A standpipe and water tap mark the arrival in the village of water fed by gravity from a stream far from the village, saving women and girls in partiicular many hours of labor carrying water in buckets. The concrete platform keeps the area clean. The availability of clean water in the village can have a profound impact on the health and well being of villagers.
